Jim Lawson (founder of The Warrior's Club) is a black belt, certified specialist and top-notch practitioner in the training methods, techniques and tactics of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, mixed martial arts and hand to hand combat. Having spent the last 30 years studying various disciplines, Lawson has obtained first class instruction, studying under Joe Goosen of the "Ten Goose" boxing team, and the world-renowned Tae Kwon Do practitioner, Simon Rhee. He received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under 2011 Pan American champion, Rodrigo Teixeira.
As a Sergeant in the United State Marine Corps and a graduate of Marine Combat Training at "The School of Infantry" in Camp Pendleton, Jim served in a "special operations capable" unit as a hand to hand combat instructor -- teaching U.S. troops the L.I.N.E. system (Linear Infighting Neural Override Engagement) and the basic principles of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. He is also certified in Anti-terrorism, Weaponry and Tactical Fundamentals.
Matt Flores is a retired decorated police officer, with over fifteen years of law enforcement experience. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, under world class competitor & instructor Rodrigo Teixeira. Matt has over twenty years experience in grappling, and has competed and won many titles including United States National Champion.
Having been involved for over 20 years studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/ submission grappling & Tactical Restraint Methods, Mr. Flores has actively served as a Police Officer in the patrol division for over fifteen years. Flores has extensive training and knowledge in the close quarter confrontations that are common to many law enforcenment officers on the streets. Matt has had the opportunity to train with members of the legendary Gracie family, including Royce Gracie,
Rorian Gracie and Pedro Carvalho (who served as a Tactical Weapons Defense consultant to the Los Angeles Police Dept.). He currently trains in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under 2011 Pan American champion, Rodrigo Teixeira.
Julio Lang, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, was born in the city of Curitiba in southern Brazil. At the age of 16 he was inspired to practice the "Gentle Art” after watching Royce Gracie’s dominance in the first UFC telecasts.
As a twelve year veteran he has trained under Professor Gile Ribeiro, Professor Rodrigo Medeiros, Professor Sebastian Lalli and currently trains with 2011 Pan American Champion Rodrigo Teixeira. Aside from receiving world class instruction, Julio is also a highly decorated competitor; earning a gold medal at the 2010 IBJJF New York & Las Vegas Open Championships, the 2010 National Championship and the 2012 NABJJF Los Angeles Open.
